Vinification

Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is manually obtained from extracts and placed on racks at controlled a temperature and humidity for no less than three months. After fermentation it spends the remaining time in oak barrels before resting in bottles for another 12 months.

Tasting

The first tasting of Amarone, an act that marked its beginning, dates back to the 1940s. A cellarman left a Recioto to ferment for longer than necessary and, when he tried it, he found himself saying aloud: "But this is not amaro (bitter) its Amarone "! A fortunate mistake for all lovers of good wine, an oversight without which today we could not sip one of the most loved wines of all time.
