Categories of Personal Data

Personal data is collected:

  • When creating a user account on our website. You will be required to enter:

    • Mandatory data: first and last name, date of birth, email address, and chosen password.
      Without this data, account creation will not be possible.

    • Optional data: address, mobile and/or landline phone number for shipment purposes in case of future orders. These may also be provided later when placing an order.


Purpose, Legal Basis, and Data Retention Period

The data is processed in order to fulfill the registration request and activate the user profile in the e-commerce section of the Giordano website.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (processing necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps at the request of the data subject).

The data may also be used to create a database for sending future offers or initiatives via email from Giordano Vini S.p.A., in compliance with Directive 2009/136/EC and Article 130 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended. You may unsubscribe at any time using the “unsubscribe” link.

Retention period: the data will be stored for the time necessary to complete registration and as long as the user account is active. The account and associated data may be deleted in case of inappropriate behavior, and relevant authorities may be notified.


Processing Methods

Personal data is processed mainly by electronic means and stored on servers owned by Giordano or by third-party providers appointed as Data Processors. Adequate security measures are in place to prevent data loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.


Data Disclosure

Where appropriate and in compliance with applicable law, your personal data may be shared with:

  • External service providers acting as Data Processors for services such as website or e-commerce management, marketing, or IT support.

Location of Processing and Transfer of Data Outside the EU

Data is stored on servers located within the European Union, either owned by Giordano or appointed processors.
However, data may also be transferred to third countries, primarily for analytics services, in accordance with the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission on 5 February 2010 and in compliance with Article 46 or, where applicable, Article 49(1)(b) of the GDPR.
