Vinitaly 2016

Vinitaly 2016

Date of publication: 07/04/2016

There is one Expo that happens every year, and this year it will be blowing out 50 candles. It doesn’t take place in Milan but in Verona. The figures? Mind-blowing! Over 4,100 exhibitors, a net floor area of 100,000 sq m, and over 20 nations represented in the Halls. Are we going to be there, too? Of course! Giordano Vini will be in Hall 7Stand B7, proud to be exhibiting our brand under the banner Italian Wine Brands. The list of events around dates to mark is a long one: this year the Langhe will see one of the greats, Barolo, reach 50 years of being awarded the DOC accreditation (DOCG since 1980). But let’s step back a bit…

Verona, 10-13 April 2016

Fifty years of Vinitaly. An important achievement that highlights the importance and the growth of a vital part of the Made in Italy ‘brand’. Italian President Mattarella will preside over this year's open cerimony.

President of Veronafiere - the organiser of the event - Maurizio Danese said: “The presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at the opening of the 50th Vinitaly is a tribute to all the business leaders who have - over the last 50 years - managed to build a sector that has become the boast of Italy around the world; and to their children who are continuing their work today. With their enthusiasm and professionalism they will be looking to the future with passion and confidence”.

With wine tastings, meetings and conferences, the programme is full and geared towards an ever-more-demanding winemaking audience. For the first time, there is an event that wine-lovers won’t want to miss: the Fuori-salone.  A series of events and tastings will be taking place in the historic centre of Verona from 8-11 April, turning the city into a veritable temple of Wine. City visitors will be able to enjoy both sides of the wine world: the Wine Business at the Trade Fair, and the Wine Festival in the city

Our pick of the best of the various events planned for the Fair is the experimental exhibit being staged by the Women’s Grapevine Association (Associazione Le Donne delle Vite) entitled “Wine&Walking: a meeting in the dark” (Vino&Paesaggio: Appuntamento al buio”: a sight and taste sensory experience aimed at discovering a whole new dimension of enology. And eyes will also be on ORGANIC wines this year: all of them are being displayed together in Hall 8, in what will be a hall-within-a-hall under the banner Vinitalybio.

Vinitaly in your home

This year we’re bringing Vinitaly to your home. How many visitors attended the Fair in 2015? 150,145. But, don’t worry, there’s no need to try and make room in your sitting room!

We’re keeping out the crowds, and just sending you the best of the wines on show. Available in a half (6 bottles) or full case (12 bottles), two special labels: the Organic Puglia Rosso 2015 and the Organic Chardonnay Salento 2015, the two new ORGANIC wines in our catalogue - all the scents and charm of Puglia in two unique wines. A pure explosion of wild berries in the first and an exotic breeze in the second. The grapes have been produced using wholly organic cultivation methods: only natural substances were used throughout both the cultivation and the processing of the grapes.

And finally, the greatest surprise of them all: the price: half case (6 bottles), £ 34.95 and full case (12 bottles) at only £ 59.95 (only £4.99 per bottle), delivered direct to your home!
