EXTENDED GUIDELINES ON COOKIES

This website is owned by Giordano Vini SpA who is the data controller for all purposes and effects of Legislative Decree 30th June 2003 n. 196 ("Code") and uses cookies and similar technologies.
These guidelines provide information on how cookies are used and how they can be controlled by the user.
Use of this Web site (and of any other site operated by us) implies acceptance by the user of the use of cookies (and similar technologies) in accordance with this information sheet.
In particular, you accept the use of cookies for analysis, advertising, marketing and profiling according to the purposes described below.
If the user accepts the profiling cookies, as later identified, these will be added to his profile which already exists in our database, should the user have given his consent to marketing and profiling activities when subscribing to one or more activities undertaken by us (e.g.: during registration, e-commerce, participation in prize-giving competitions).
Should the user not accept the use of cookies for analysis, advertising and profiling, he has the possibility of changing the settings of his browser as described in "How to control and delete cookies".

What are cookies?
Cookies consist in information stored on the hard drive of the user's terminal relating to the use of internet and which are forwarded from the user's browser to a Web server. Therefore, they allow knowledge of the services, the sites visited and the choices made when navigating. In other words, cookies are small files containing letters and numbers, which are downloaded to your computer or mobile device while visiting a website.  Cookies are then sent back to the original site at each subsequent visit, or to another website which recognises these cookies. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize the user's device.
This information is not, therefore, provided spontaneously and directly, but it leaves a trace of the web browsing performed by the user.
Cookies carry out different functions and are used to navigate efficiently between pages, remembering preferences and, more generally, improving user experience. They can also help ensure that the ads displayed during navigation are of personal interest and that the marketing activities carried out comply with personal preferences, avoiding unwelcome promotional material or not in line with the needs of the user.
Whilst browsing a website, the user’s terminal may also receive cookies sent from other websites or web servers (so-called "third parties"), on which some of the elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, links to specific pages on other domains) on the website that he is visiting may be present. Therefore, according to this profile there may be:

1. Direct cookies, sent directly from the site to the user's device
2. Third party cookies, from a third party, but sent on our behalf. This site uses third party cookies in order to facilitate the analysis of our website and of their use, and in order to allow targeted advertising (as described below).

Moreover, depending on the purpose of the cookies, these can be distinguished as:

1. Technical Cookies: these are used in order to allow transmission of a communication through an electronic communications network or in order to provide a service expressly requested by the user. They are not used for other purposes. The category of technical cookies, the use of which does not require the user's consent, includes:
   1. Browsing or session cookies: they guarantee normal navigation and use of the Web site (e.g..: to authenticate and access restricted areas). Using these cookies (which are not permanently stored on the user's device and are automatically deleted when closing the browser) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to enable a safe and efficient browsing of the website.
   2. Analytics cookies: these are only used to collect aggregated information, the number of users who visit the site and how they visit it.
   3. Functional cookies: which allow users to navigate according to certain pre-determined criteria (e.g. language, purchased products or services) in order to improve the quality of service.
2. Profiling cookies: these aim to create user profiles and are used to send targeted promotional messages according to the preferences expressed by the user during his web browsing. These cookies may be used for these purposes only with the user’s consent.

How does this site use cookies?
The following table summarises the way that this site and third parties use cookies. These uses include the use of cookies for:

1. Knowing the total number of visitors on an ongoing basis as well as the types of browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer) and operating systems (e.g. Windows or Macintosh) used;
2. Monitoring site performance, including the manner in which visitors use it, as well as to improve its functionality;
3. Customising and improving online user experience; and
4. Allowing user profiling, for targeted and customised promotional purposes on the basis of the preferences and interests expressed by the user on the web, by us and by third parties, both on this site and outside it.

What types of cookies do we use and how can they be handled by the user
The various types of cookies used can be classified into one of the categories listed in the table below, which allows the user to consent or to modify this (if already previously given) in order to accept the various types of cookies:

Technologies similar to cookies
As occurs in many websites, we use technologies similar to cookies, including local shared objects (also known as "flash cookies"), the analysis of the browser’s history, the browser‘s fingerprints and pixel tags (also known as "web beacons"). These technologies provide us and our suppliers with information on how the site and its contents are used by visitors, and allow us to identify whether that computer or device has visited our or other sites in the past.
Our servers automatically collect the user’s IP address; in this way, we can associate that address to the user domain name or to that of his ISP. We may also collect some "clickstream data" relating to the use of our site. Clickstream data includes, for example, information relating to the user’s computer or device, to the browser and operating system and its settings, to the previous page, to the pages and the contents displayed or clicked on during the visit as well as the duration and how these operations were carried out, to the various elements downloaded, to the site visited after ours, and to any search terms entered on our site or on a redirecting site.

How to check out or delete cookies
The user has the right to choose whether or not accept cookies. Below there is some information about how to exercise that right. However, please note that by choosing to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully use the website and, if the user has given his consent to profiling on other occasions, he may receive communications which are not very relevant to his interests. It should be noted, also, that if you choose to manage cookie preferences, our cookie management tool will in any case set a technical cookie on the device in order to allow us to implement user preferences. Eliminating or removing cookies from the user device also removes the cookie concerning preferences; these choices must therefore be made again.
It is possible to block cookies by using the selection links in the table above. Alternatively, it is possible to modify browser settings so that cookies cannot be stored on the device. To do so, follow the instructions provided by the browser (usually found in the "Help", "Tools”, or "Change" menus). Disabling a cookie or a category of cookies, does not delete them from the browser. Therefore, the operation must be carried out directly in the browser.

Previously set cookies
If the user has disabled one or more cookies, we will still be able to use the information given through choices and collected prior to that disabling. However, we will cease to use the disabled cookies to collect further information from that moment onwards.
