Masterpieces from Piedmont and Tuscany
12 wines
Two regions and their visiting cards. Here are 6 wines from each of them, and they all have so much to say. All you have to do is choose them and listen very carefully: it would be one of the greatest pleasure of the day.
Barbera Piemonte DOC
Traditional red wine produced with characteristic Barbera grapes in the areas of Asti, Cuneo and Alessandria in Piedmont.
Deep ruby red in colour, the aroma is well-balanced with hints of ripe blackberries.
Cortese Piemonte DOC
A classic among Piedmontese white wines: born on the hills of Langhe and Monferrato, light and pleasant thanks to a very low alcohol content. Our Cortese has obtained a prestigious score in the yearbook of the best Italian wines, signed by Luca Maroni: 92 points.
In the glass, it offers a yellow straw colour, with slight greenish reflections. The perfume has echoes of flowers and fruit, with clear sensations of acacia and pear. On tasting, it is light and fresh, pleasant and lively.
Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2019 Selvato
The Morellino di Scansano is closely linked to its land of origin, and like its land is rich and intricate. An intense red colour with garnet highlights, its fine, fragrant scents confer to the nose fresh aromas of red fruits and morello cherry that lead to impressions of ripe plums. On the palate it is dry, warm, slightly tannic and envelops the mouth with a pleasant velvety sensation. Serve at 18 °C
Ruby red colour tending to garnet red with age; ethereal, intense and pleasant aroma; dry and slightly tannic flavour.
Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Collection"
A Piedmont “classic” made from Barbera d’Asti grapes, expertly aged in oak casks.
Dense, deep red with purple hues; a wonderful fragrance with greatly expressive appeal: blackberry and wood balm in a soft, calibrated succession. A flavour with an admirable soft-acid balance, and a full body that makes it fleshy on the palate.
"Selvato" Rosso Toscana IGT
Red wine aged in oak barrels, full of suggestions of a land that loves wines and has a long tradition of excellence. Luca Maroni, prestigious sensorial analyst, has attributed to our Toscana Rosso Selvato an exceptional evaluation in the yearbook of the Best Italian Wines: 94 points.
Bright red colour with hints of grenadine; a fine, variegated fragrance with notes of ripe fruit, spices and vanilla; a warm, harmonious flavour with a full, persistent and pleasingly soft body.
Chianti DOCG Riserva Selvato
The Chianti is defined as "Riserva" only after a 24-month-aging in wooden barrels and a refinement in bottles for another 3 months. This allows the wine to evolve and mature completely, so that it can be appreciated when harmoniously accomplished in its development.
It has a red color with garnet reflections. The bouquet is intense and delicate with floral notes of violets, wild berries and vanilla. On the palate it is harmonious and elegant with good structure.
