The great appellations are all here. Here is a selection of 12 DOC and IGT wines, for when you want to give (and drink) the best.
Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso IGT
The Isola dei Nuraghi red wine is characterized by a boost of freshness that satisfies the palate and encourages you to keep on sipping. Less difficult and complex than the Cannonau, this is a classic table: in one way or another it always gets finished. Especially when you need a wine with the right intensity to hold its own against the strong flavours of the tastiest dishes.
A dry, surprisingly smooth sip which maintains good persistence. The bouquet is floral and fruity, with central notes of geranium and cherry. Alcohol present but not at all invasive; this is a very drinkable and extremely pleasant red.
Barbera Piemonte DOC
Traditional red wine produced with characteristic Barbera grapes in the areas of Asti, Cuneo and Alessandria in Piedmont.
Deep ruby red in colour, the aroma is well-balanced with hints of ripe blackberries.
SICILIA GRILLO DOC BIOLOGICO
An elegant Sicilian organic wine with a strong personality, made from Grillo grapes. This white grape variety, mainly grown in western Sicily, produces wines with great depth of flavour, good sapidity and good longevity potential. The aromas are of fruit and citrus, well integrated with floral notes of wild flowers and orange blossom.
Brilliant straw yellow colour, complex floral and fruity bouquet, with clear hints of exotic fruits. It has good freshness, with an acidity that is evident but well balanced. On the palate it is soft and remarkably persistent.
Prosecco DOC
Italians' favourite sparkling wine from the Veneto region in the North East of Italy. Intense floral aroma typical of the Glera grapes, also known as Prosecco grapes.
Pale yellow in colour, with green hues and a fine and persistent perlage. Intense and floral aroma, aromatic with hints of grape, green apple and lime blossom. The flavour is pleasantly lively, harmonious fine and elegant, with a fresh balanced acidity aftertaste.
"Selvato" Rosso Toscana IGT
Red wine aged in oak barrels, full of suggestions of a land that loves wines and has a long tradition of excellence. Luca Maroni, prestigious sensorial analyst, has attributed to our Toscana Rosso Selvato an exceptional evaluation in the yearbook of the Best Italian Wines: 94 points.
Bright red colour with hints of grenadine; a fine, variegated fragrance with notes of ripe fruit, spices and vanilla; a warm, harmonious flavour with a full, persistent and pleasingly soft body.
Rosato Primitivo Puglia IGT
A refreshingly fragrant dry rosè wine, ideal as an aperitif or with light antipasta dishes. This wine expresses well the fragrances of a land where winemaking is very important. It reveals a sensual and warm character by tasting it. The sensorial analyst Luca Maroni gives to our Rosato Primitivo Puglia IGT 94 points: a wine that becomes a full member of the Best Italian Wines of the year.
A delicate rosé wine with a light pink hue. Primitivo Rose' Puglia IGT has an intense and persistent aroma, with notes of black cherry and violet. Harmonious, smooth and fruity taste.
