Amaro, which is Italian for ‘bitter’, is an Italian herbal liqueur that is commonly drunk as an after-dinner digestif. It has a bitter-sweet flavour, and is produced by macerating herbs, roots, flowers, bark, and citrus peels in alcohol, before mixing with sugar syrup and allowing the mixture to age in casks or bottles. Recipes often originated in monasteries and Amaro can drunk neat, sometimes with a citrus wedge, or on ice or with tonic water. The authentic aroma and the unique flavour conjure up a land full of traditions.

This delicious liqueur has a deep brown colour, an aroma of herbs, and a strongly aromatic flavour that is at once bitter and intense yet has delicate and aromatic notes, making it an ideal after-dinner digestif or a relaxing drink on ice or with tonic water.
